Pranav Desai is an Associate Product Manager for Patton Electronics’ VoIP product line group. Pranav holds a Masters Degree in Telecommunications from the University of Maryland, College Park. Pranav has five years of experience in Carrier Networks and Telecommunications. Prior to Patton, Pranav worked in Atrica Systems (Carrier Ethernet) for three years. He handled important carrier accounts like Reliance Communications, Philcom and KVH Japan. He has held various responsibilities including that of Technical Support engineer, Pre Sales Engineer and Field Escalation Engineer.
Abstract: Telephony landscape is changing rapidly. SIP once an infant in the land of Telecommunications has grown up to become the de-facto standard for IP telephony. SIP trunking is transitioning from merely having a mass mind share to a massive market share. More and more enterprises are adopting the cost benefits and more importantly the rich feature set enabled by SIP trunking. Carriers have started preferring and offering SIP trunking as well, as a way of offering differentiated and value added services. Getting into SIP trunking is one of the top priorities for carriers, channel partners as well as Enterprises.
