Abstract: The purpose of the presentation is to shary with many years of development experience of a firewall system based on Linux. Its rise and persistence till today is mainly the “cause” of administrators expectations of it and products available on the market. Over the years, our expectations have changed (usually increased) and now the main reason for this is weak solutions IPv6 support in commercial use. No to make it so rosy, on the side of open source there are also many slips, which, fortunately, with a bit of desire and perseverance, you can improve yourself.
