Paul Weterman Director Product Management EMEA Global Crossing. He joined Global Crossing in 2000, as Marketing Manager for Global Crossing’s Pan European Crossing Network. In 2003 he became a Senior Product Manager for IP VPN services. Gradually his responsibility area expanded to other IP (-related) services: Dedicated Internet Access/IP Transit, Managed Network Services, DSL Access and Application Performance Management services. In his current role he is responsible for the Product Management of Data Services (IP & Transport Services) in Europe. Prior to joining Global Crossing, Paul Weterman was Senior Consultant at Intercai, advising clients on the development of new services and business concepts and the strategic use of ICT services. Before Intercai, Paul worked for Philips Electronics NV for 8 years in various Sales and Marketing positions. He started working for the Dutch sales organisation of Philips. After holding two sales jobs in the IT market, Paul made a move to the telecom market and joined the international headquarter of Philips Business Communications where he gained broad international experience. First, as a Product Marketing Manager, with global responsibility for introducing new products and managing the product portfolio in the area of PBX-related ‘Desktop Productivity’ applications and later on, as a Line-of-Business Manager, responsible for the implementation of a global vertical marketing strategy. Paul graduated at the Eindhoven University of Technology, Faculty Electrical Engineering, in 1989.

What is the effect of the Internet Exchange, neutral carrier houses, the incumbent and other market dynamics on costs and end-user experience. What are the optimal conditions for a flourishing internet environment.
