Topic of Presentation: Petabyte Data Storage Systems for Content Providers
Language: Polish
Krzysztof Gozdz has been designing, building and developing computer platforms, that consist of servers, mass data storage, the connections between them and operating systems. He gained experience in that area while he was working for software houses, as well as hardware companies such as Sun, IBM, HP. He specializes in high-performance and high capacity systems, that are being used by computing power providers and by content providers.
Abstract: The first thought that comes to our mind when we think of mass storage for an important data is a large disc array with double FC controllers, a connection to SAN network and multiple advanced features. This way we get high capacity, dependability and functionality. However, is that really the only way this can be done? I will demonstrate on live examples that there are at least few alternatives.
