Topic of Presentation: Shocking experiences gained while implementing IPTV networks in Polish operators’ networks

Wojciech Apel graduated from The Silesian University of Technology. Currently he is a member of Supervisory Board at SGT S.A., the operator that provides TV services in local ISP networks. He has been working in telecom since 1994. From 1995 to 2000 has been leading PiK-Net – the company that was one of the pioneers of commercial Internet in Poland. Since 2000 he has been engaged in few projects concerning the integration and consolidation of network operators in Poland. As a Vice-chairman of TKP S.A., an operator of 3S (Silesian Fiber Optical Network Operator), he was responsible for creating company’s strategy.

Abstract: Issues that will be discussed during presentation: packing MPEG->TS->UDP->IP multicast ->802 multicast, processing signals in head-end, framework requirements, access requirements, real experiences, who’s behind it and what we are planning to do next, a few interesting stories about the business.
